My Father’s New Queen reviewed: a spy bride, a prince and the wrong bedchamber

Premise and tone

Among the Candy Shorts series from September 2026, this is the one that strays furthest from modern domestic settings; it plays out at a royal court. The platform listed it by September 23, 2026. It remained a New-filter title until September 28 and had left that filter by September 30, and no launch date is published.

Our reading of the synopsis: an aging king takes a 22-year-old bride. The prince, the king’s son, shares her exact age. Once the wedding night comes, her steps lead to the prince’s room rather than the king’s, and there he notices a brand on her shoulder that marks her as the enemy kingdom’s. She is a spy, and the poster’s tagline sums it up: “a treaty written on her skin”.

I like costume drama but expect little from generated video, so I started guarded. The throne room holds up better than I feared, and I want to know who branded her.

Episodes

The series page showed five episodes on September 25, 2026, numbered but untitled and without a per-episode synopsis. We did not time them; the platform’s usual length is one to three minutes. Claimed by the Dragon Queen came first by series number, with this title following, and both were online by September 23, 2026.

Who is who at court

The king

Older, freshly married and, going by the synopsis, unaware of where his bride has gone.

The prince

Son of the king, an adult, and 22 like the bride. He is the audience’s point of entry, and after seeing the brand he alone at court knows what the queen is hiding.

The new queen

She is 22, the king’s new wife, and by the end of night one she is in the prince’s room, carrying the enemy kingdom’s mark. The plot hinges on whose side she is on.

All three are adult AI-generated characters from the platform’s original cast, the Candy characters group. None of them is a Candy Creators twin, and the operator’s terms describe the stories as fiction and the characters as invented.

What it costs

Since there is no Spicy tag, a Candy.ai account that has passed the age check unlocks the first two episodes at no cost. Content warnings

Adult content, 18+. Nudity and sex scenes sit in the three paid episodes, which carry the explicit rating given to every locked Candy Shorts episode; the free pair does not go that far. Review verdict

The strongest argument for it is the setting. Most of the catalog plays out in bedrooms, dorms and kitchens, so a palace, a treaty and a branded spy hand the visuals something new to work with, and a spy plot comes with its own engine because each scene can shift who knows what.

The case against is length. Five brief episodes read like a short story; double-crossing needs more space than that. Begin with the free pair, and if the throne room draws you in, put 36 tokens toward it or pay for one month of Premium.

Disclosure: I have only seen episodes 1 and 2, and my opinion may shift once I have watched the paid three.
