Premise: one hospital, one door

Harriet is new at the hospital and still clumsy at the work when the chief of surgery shuts the door of the on-call room, then offers some "hands-on training." She never saw it coming. The head nurse, who is jealous of her and determined to get her fired, waits in the corridor. Under the Chief is entirely original to Candy AI, and its world is one hospital and one door.

Up front on the poster is a blonde in blue scrubs; a stethoscope-wearing doctor stands behind her, a nurse dressed in white guards the door, and monitors fill the background.

I clicked because of the title, whose double meaning works better than it should, and the head nurse is what held my curiosity. With a lookout stationed in the corridor, a two-person scene becomes a three-person story.

Where it sits: eighth of thirteen arrivals

Our October 12, 2026 look at the Candy.ai catalog found no series 328. On October 17 it was listed, and its five episodes were IDs 1113 through 1117. Since no launch date is published, the gap between those two looks is the closest we can get. Counting by ID, it is eighth among thirteen newcomers, and at our check the New Episodes badge was on it and it was filed in the New filter. It has neither a Spicy tag nor a theme tag.

Episodes and access

Five numbered episodes are listed, with no titles and no summaries. The format's usual one to three minutes applies to each, though we did not time any.

Who is involved

• The chief of surgery: never named, and the person who shuts the door.
• The head nurse: never named, jealous and stationed outside.
• Harriet: the new arrival, still clumsy at the work. The chat character offered at the end is named Harriet Seagrave.

Harriet is the only one with a name, and none of the ages is stated. All three are adult, invented characters from the original cast. None is a Candy Creators twin, and the series portrays neither an actual hospital nor an actual clinician.

The closing screen offers a chat with Harriet Seagrave, a named Candy AI personality. Series 329, Mum Got Sick On Our Holiday, offers the same character; there she is 23 and nervous, while this series gives no age.

Pricing: 12 tokens per locked episode

The final three episodes are priced at 12 tokens apiece, a 36-token total, which is nearly $3.60 on the smallest pack; creator series charge 30 per episode. Cost is not what holds me back at $3.60. I just wonder whether the head nurse ends up with a bigger role than guarding a hallway before the tokens are spent.

Neighbors: home nurse, night shift and lifeguard

• My Wife Hired My Nurse also has a medical backdrop, but a domestic one: a patient, the nurse his wife booked, and a wife off at work. Under the Chief, by contrast, takes place inside an institution where rank matters and someone keeps watch outside.
• My First Night Shift is another debut week in a new post, with hotel guests lined up behind separate doors, whereas here everything hinges on a single locked door.
• Under Her Watch: the lifeguard in charge of a beach club is played by Sophie Dee's twin. Authority belongs to the lead there; here the lead is the newcomer.

Our verdict

A hospital hands the story a hierarchy: chief, head nurse and newcomer, each of whom wants something from the other two. Short episodes suit a cramped on-call room, but the best idea here is the jealous head nurse, whose presence outside the door keeps the tension from resting solely on the pair inside.

What worries me is how little the free pair can demonstrate. The synopsis has already revealed both the twist and the menace, so the paid episodes must carry the development, and a story of boss versus recruit hinges on rank, which for some viewers will be decisive.

My verdict so far is promising, and the corridor deserves more credit than the room. Episode 3 gets my tokens only if the head nurse earns them.
