Riley Reid's fifth Candy Shorts series reviewed: the lake weekend test

Premise: the lake-house test

A young woman invites her boyfriend to the family lake house for the weekend and neglects to warn him about her big sister. That sister is Riley, who intends to work out whether he deserves her younger sibling. This is the fifth Candy AI series starring Riley Reid, with a Riley Reid x candy.ai billing and her licensed digital twin as the lead.

The poster has the girlfriend in the foreground on a lake-house dock, while Riley and a man stand behind her, beneath a tagline promising that whatever goes on at the lake remains there. Her name is right in the title, much as My Wife's Best Friend traded on her celebrity, while the synopsis mentions only "Riley" and gives no hint whether her fame matters to the story.

From the dock shot on the poster, I guessed this would be a scaled-down yacht party. After two episodes it feels more like a job interview that overstays, and I say that fondly.

Where it sits in her catalog

Our October 5 snapshot (09:39 UTC) lacked it, and our October 6 snapshot (09:15 UTC) had it. Episode IDs 982 to 986 belong to series 304, which led a group of four arrivals and grew the catalog's total from 135 to 139 series. The two after it, 305 and 306, feature Asa Akira's twin; 306 is the Spicy one. Dad, I'm 21 Now (307) was the newest title in the catalog. On October 6 the creator-series list stood at 13 titles, against 10 the day earlier.

Her earlier four put the twin in a yacht-party host's chair in Blackout at My Yacht Party, which is Spicy and has no free episodes; in a houseguest's role in My Wife's Best Friend; in a stepmother's role in My Stepmom's Weekend; and in an older stepsister's role in My Step-Sister's Dormitory. The closest parallel is the Dormitory title, which also has an older stepsister named Riley and a young man who comes to stay for a weekend. This time the family connection comes through the girlfriend, the scene moves to a lake house, and the guest finds himself on trial. The seventh series, Our Host Is Riley Reid, showed up some time from October 12 to 17, 2026, and likewise puts her twin in charge of a house: a beach house governed by house rules.

Only episodes 1 to 5 are listed, with no titles or summaries and no timing beyond the format's general one-to-three-minute range.

The three people at the lake

• The boyfriend: the guest, who was told about the lake trip but never about her sibling.
• The girlfriend: the one who brings him home; Riley is her older sister.
• Riley (played by Riley Reid's digital twin): the big sister, who is administering the test.

Riley is the only named character, and the listing does not say who the man on the poster is. Each of the three is an adult. Pricing: why 90 tokens gives pause

Locked episodes in creator series cost 30 tokens each, versus 12 in original-cast series, which is two and a half times as much. Episodes 3 to 5 therefore total 90 tokens: about $9 of a $9.99 pack of 100, or roughly two-thirds of the $13.99 one-month Premium plan. For viewers after just this one series, tokens come out ahead, but add another creator series at the same rate and the bill already tops the monthly plan. Longer Premium plans lower the monthly figure: three months run $8.99 a month, and twelve months run $3.99 a month with $47.88 charged in one go. Even so, I would not put 90 tokens down on the strength of two episodes. Should I pay anything, it will be a subscription, since that unlocks her other series too.

Our verdict

A test drives a story better than a backdrop does: the visitor has something at stake, and the big sister has a reason to appear in every scene. Viewers who know her other four will recognize the template, and a variation is reason enough to press play.

Against it: the price and the thin material. Ninety tokens is a lot compared with 36 tokens for an original-cast series, the synopsis stops at the premise, and a test deserves a payoff that five brief episodes could squeeze. Since the first two episodes need only a login, that is the place to decide.

I rank her four earlier series in a private order, and it stays put until I have seen episodes 3 to 5, although the free pair is tempting me to shuffle it.
