Quick answer
Checked October 2026House Rules, series ID 302, gives Candy AI Shorts a stepmother at the center, over five episodes tagged Stepmom and Taboo. It was not there on October 2, 2026 and had arrived by October 5. A restless stepmother drafts house rules to get her own way while the husband’s son has returned from college and his girlfriend is a guest in the house. An account gets you the first two episodes free; the other three unlock with Premium or 12 tokens each. No Spicy tag applies, and all the characters are made-up adults.

Premise: who gets to make the rules
Everything hangs on the title. The stepmother, restless, drafts a set of house rules aimed at getting her own way; meanwhile her husband’s son has come back from college with his girlfriend as a houseguest. Boiled down, it is a power contest between adults: who runs the household, who complies, and where the girlfriend fits.
After the two free episodes: I came for a rulebook joke and got a struggle for control instead, and the enforcer interests me more than the rules themselves.
Where it landed among the October 5 arrivals
Our check at 10:13 UTC on October 2, 2026 did not find House Rules; by 09:39 UTC on October 5 it was listed, with series ID 302 and episode IDs 972 to 976. Going by ID order, it sits in the middle of the three series that arrived on October 5. Before it comes 301, the Candy Creators title with Lexi Luna’s twin, Thanksgiving With My Best Friend’s Mom; after it comes My Stepsister Still Calls Me Loser, ID 303, which was the newest title at that time. The poster pictures a front door with a blonde woman in front of it, dressed in pink athletic wear.
Five episodes and where the paywall falls
The series page lists episodes 1 to 5 with no names or summaries. The platform’s usual one-to-three-minute length applies, though we did not time them.
| Episodes | Who can watch | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| 1 and 2 | Every Candy.ai account that has cleared the age check | No charge |
| 3, 4 and 5 | Locked as of October 5, rated explicit | Each costs 12 tokens, or take Premium |
The household
The stepmother
Restless and unnamed, she writes the rules and anchors the whole series.
The stepson
The husband’s son, a grown man back from college, also without a name.
The girlfriend
His partner, staying as a guest; no name given.
The husband gets a mention and nothing more. Every character in the series is a fictional adult drawn from the platform’s own roster.
Paying for episodes 3 to 5
- Tokens. Each locked episode costs 12 tokens in the app, which makes 36 for the three, roughly $3.60 if you buy the pack of 100 tokens at $9.99. Creators-branded series cost 30 tokens per episode, but this one, with its original cast, does not.
- A Premium plan. The September 2026 prices were $13.99 for a single month, $8.99 a month on a three-month commitment, and $3.99 a month on a twelve-month one, billed as $47.88 at once. Each month of Premium also includes about 100 tokens. Our pricing guide carries the full plan table.
I have watched only the free pair so far. For one five-episode series I would pay in tokens rather than take a plan, because Premium only pays off if you will be watching more titles after this one.
Content warning
For adults only. A missing Spicy tag does not make this series mild: the platform places the locked episodes in its explicit tier, which means nudity and sex scenes start at episode 3, and we describe none of it. The Taboo tag refers to the step-family relationship among adults, and the platform’s terms exclude any real person from appearing. Our ratings explainer for Candy AI Shorts decodes the labels.
How to watch it
Official viewing is on candy.ai, in its Candy Shorts section where the slug reads house-rules, or on candyshorts.com. At either one you have to sign up and verify your age before the first episode plays. A page that claims to host everything with no account is most likely a repost, or a page built to harvest card details. We are an independent publisher, and Candy.ai and CandyShorts belong to EverAI Ltd., which has no hand in this site. If a purchase follows a click on one of our platform links, we may receive an affiliate commission, and the price you pay is unchanged.
Sibling titles worth comparing
- Whatever Your Stepmom Says is the closest match and shares the Stepmom and Taboo tags. A father there declares that Ava, 22, has the final say; here the stepmother drafts the rules on her own.
- Accident With My Stepmom is the Spicy counterpart: tagged Spicy and Taboo, blurred until you log in, with no known story and nothing free to sample.
- In My Stepmom’s Weekend a young stepmother, played by Riley Reid’s licensed twin, is put in charge of her college-age stepson for a single weekend.
- The Girlfriend’s Stepmom series shuts a boyfriend in a house with his girlfriend’s stepmother, and his loyalty gets tested. She does not appear in that series at all, whereas in House Rules she is staying in the house.
- Our Host Is Riley Reid gives its rulebook to a beach-house host; Riley Reid’s licensed twin plays her. Listed by October 17, 2026, it offers two free episodes and then charges 30 tokens each.
Review verdict
The thing separating this series from the usual stepmother fare is the source of the authority. A husband in Whatever Your Stepmom Says hands over control. Here the stepmother seizes it and commits it to paper, which suits brief episodes well, because each one can introduce a fresh clause.
Our doubts are brief. Five episodes make for a thin rulebook, the platform’s description ends at the setup, and anyone who dislikes the genre will be put off by the Stepmom and Taboo tags. Logging in is the only cost of the free pair; the 36-token gamble is whether the last three live up to the title.
The girlfriend keeps pulling my attention back. A rulebook alone is a premise, while a guest obliged to live by it gives a story somewhere to begin, and I cannot yet tell whether the series gets there.
What works
- The authority comes from the stepmother herself, and written rules suit one-to-three-minute episodes.
- An original cast keeps the locked episodes at 12 tokens each, 36 in all (about $3.60), instead of the 30 Creators-branded series ask.
What could be better
- A rulebook story with only five episodes feels thin.
- The platform’s blurb ends at the premise and names no one.
- Readers who dislike the genre will let the Stepmom and Taboo tags make the call.
Frequently asked questions
Can I watch House Rules for free?
Partly. Any Candy.ai account that has passed the age check plays episodes 1 and 2 at no charge, since it carries no Spicy tag. The remaining three are locked: each costs 12 tokens (36 together), or you can use a Premium plan. In September 2026 Premium cost between $3.99 and $13.99 monthly, with the lower price going to longer commitments.
What is the plot?
A stepmother, restless, writes house rules designed to secure what she wants, at a time when her husband’s son has returned from college, bringing his girlfriend as a guest. The platform’s description stops there, names no one and refers to the husband only briefly. Every character is a made-up adult, and Stepmom and Taboo make up the tag list.
Is this the same story as Whatever Your Stepmom Says?
Not at all; these are two distinct five-episode series, both carrying the Stepmom and Taboo tags. Whatever Your Stepmom Says has a father leaving his 22-year-old wife with the final word. House Rules, by contrast, the stepmother drafts the rules, and the household includes her stepson, who is back from college, plus his girlfriend. Each has its own review here.
How many episodes are there?
Five, with numbers only: no titles or descriptions are shown. They fall inside the one-to-three-minute range the platform quotes, which we did not measure. Their IDs run 972 to 976. Nothing indicates a sixth episode, though the platform has added episodes to a series after launch before, so look at the page for updates.
When did it appear on Candy AI?
The listing was missing at 10:13 UTC on October 2, 2026 and present by 09:39 UTC on October 5, which means we cannot pin down an exact launch date. Its ID places it after 301, the Thanksgiving title, and before 303, the Stepsister title, which closes out the trio of October 5 arrivals.
Is it Spicy, and are the characters adults?
Not Spicy: Stepmom and Taboo are the tags, anyone can see the card without logging in, and two episodes are free. The paid three nonetheless carry the explicit rating of the paid tier. All three leads, stepmother, stepson and girlfriend, are fictional adults from the platform’s own roster, and no Candy Creators twin appears.
